Mixtape Series Vol. 1: Currents (2.0)
“Imagine you are on a road trip. The radio is playing on shuffle through the car stereo, but somehow everything makes sense.”
- Yura Lee
Volume 1: Currents plays with the idea of what it means for us live in the present. Characterized by a distinctive ebb and flow, the music is reflective of the ever-changing emotional states that we as humans are constantly interacting with. Beginning in silence, our journey takes us along a stream of music and consciousness.
With each selection of music comes a new wave of momentum that is pushing us in a different direction. Some will pull the momentum back, with echos of sentiment and nostalgia. Others will pick up the pace and move us forward, sometimes gradually, and sometimes violently.
The culmination of this journey is Wojceich Kilar’s exuberant musical depiction of a sacred polish river titled, Orawa, featuring all 18 musicians.
We have yet to release the full video from the concerts of November 9th & 10th, but you can enjoy exclusive selections on this page, as well as the original program from the live concerts.
